Conversations with Strangers - Stories and scenes from an Edinburgh trek.

Exploring Edinburgh landscapes hiking up the hills of Salisbury Crags on my solo trip to Scotland, not exactly knowing where I was going. Windy, rainy day with a view of the rainbow and the city skyline to find. The climb was definitely worth it and some strangers along the trail made it easier. I remember one person in particular who must have noticed me all confused about the direction to take and helped me find the trail to take and a couple of others who helped me climb down a steep hill without falling. Here’s a thank you to them :)

I spend so much time in head - contemplating, planning, processing, overthinking even. But being in nature has a way of pulling me back.

Something about just sitting there, watching the waves crash against the background of the blue sky and hearing the sounds of the wind I find myself not thinking about (for a change) anything. Exploring Gaudì’s Casa Battlò

Couldn’t get enough of the architectural marvels in Barcelona. Visited so many works of Gaudì and want to keep going back for more! What I love the most was that his work was inspired by nature and his designs reflected elements found in forests and the seas. A lot of it was also so ahead of its time.

Within Casa Battlò in particular you see the central courtyard flow downwards in shades of blue going from dark to light to mimic the sea and to ensure that light spreads evenly within the house all day and the stairways flow naturally like branches instead of having straight lines.

A bit of a long one, this one, but with reason. One of the best immersive art experiences I’ve been to. Spoiler alert: but the last room was the best (6 and 8), just the stress buster we needed, running around the room, kicking imaginary leaves (or brushstrokes, whatever you prefer) onto the wall.
